Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026 · Draft pending legal review

1. Who we are

Orbit Work, Inc. ("Orbit," "we," "us") provides field operations software at orbitwork.io. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

We act as a data processor when our customers use Orbit to manage their operations — your employer or service provider is the data controller for that information. We act as a data controller for the information we collect directly (e.g., when you visit this website or request a demo).

2. Information we collect

  • Account info: name, email, company, role.
  • Workspace data: work orders, customer records, asset records, photos, GPS coordinates, timestamps — all under control of the customer organization.
  • Usage data: anonymized analytics about feature use, performance, and errors.
  • Communications: support emails, demo requests, sales conversations.
  • Cookies: we use essential cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.

3. How we use information

  • To provide and improve the Orbit service.
  • To support customers and respond to inquiries.
  • To send service-related communications (not marketing — separate opt-in required).
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share workspace data with third parties except subprocessors necessary to operate the service (see Security).

4. Resident-facing SMS and notifications

When utilities use Orbit to send SMS to residents, the utility is the controller of those messages. Orbit handles delivery via Twilio. Recipients can opt out by replying STOP to any message. We retain message logs only as long as needed for compliance.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@orbitwork.io.

6. Data retention

Workspace data is retained for the duration of the customer's contract plus 30 days after termination. After that, data is deleted unless legal hold applies. Account info is retained for 7 years for audit purposes.

7. International transfers

Orbit is hosted in the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

8. Children

Orbit is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We will post material changes here and notify account admins by email at least 30 days before they take effect.

10. Contact

Email privacy@orbitwork.io with any questions or requests related to this policy.

Note: This is a draft Privacy Policy. Before relying on it for compliance, have qualified legal counsel review for your jurisdiction(s).
