How it works

30 to 60 days. Not nine months.

We own the heavy lifting. You don't need a project manager, a systems integrator, or six months of internal meetings to get Orbit live.

01

Discovery

1–3 days

We walk your operation. Who does what, what software you have today, what reports your customers (or council) actually want. By the end, we have a written workflow inventory.

  • On-site or remote, depending on package
  • Workflow inventory: every WO type, every approval, every report
  • Integration audit: GIS, billing, AMI, payroll, QuickBooks
  • Stakeholder interviews: ops, field, finance, IT

An actual discovery deliverable — checked off as workflows get captured.

02

Configuration

2–6 weeks

Our team configures Orbit to match your operation. WO types, required fields, approval flows, integrations, role permissions, reports. You see weekly progress checkpoints.

  • Custom WO types built for your work
  • Integrations connected and tested
  • User roles and permissions set
  • Reports configured for your stakeholders
  • Sandbox available for review at every checkpoint

03

Go-live

1–2 weeks

Data migrated. Crews trained. We sit with your team on day one and stay close for the first 30–90 days, depending on your package.

  • Data migration from your current system
  • Training: on-site for utilities, remote-or-on-site for contractors
  • 30–90 days of priority support after go-live
  • Weekly check-ins for the first month

Common questions

Who does the work — us or you?

Mostly us. We configure workflows, set up integrations, and run training. You provide a project owner, attend the workflow review sessions, and approve at each checkpoint.

What if our operation changes after go-live?

New WO types and integrations can be added at any time. Most changes are completed in days, not weeks. Major reconfigurations may have an additional services fee.

Can we migrate data from our old system?

Yes. The Standard and Pro onboarding packages for utilities include data migration. For contractors, migration is sized by complexity and quoted separately.

What happens if implementation runs over?

We finish what we scoped. If scope changes, we re-quote before doing the extra work. We don't do hidden-fee surprises.

Is there ongoing support after go-live?

Yes. Every customer gets ongoing support included in their subscription. Priority/SLA tiers available on the larger plans.
